From dispersed scrap to refinery-ready feedstock

Our activity spans the sourcing, handling and trading of copper and non-ferrous scrap. Each stage is engineered to reduce variability for the downstream processor — the single most valuable thing a merchant-recycler can offer.

THE VALUE CHAIN WE SERVE

Four stages, one objective: consistency

01

Sourcing & Procurement

Copper-bearing scrap acquired from established commercial suppliers within a long-term, trusted network, with price exposure managed through disciplined buying.

02

Sorting & Recovery

Material is assessed, sorted by grade and consolidated, raising its quality and consistency as a secondary raw material.

03

Logistics & Handling

Compliant collection, storage and transport of non-hazardous waste, organised around dependable schedules and full chain-of-custody documentation.

04

Supply to Processors

Specification-aligned copper scrap is delivered to downstream smelters and processors, returning the metal to industrial production.

ROLE IN THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Closing the copper loop

Copper is structurally central to electrification, grid investment and the energy transition, and it is infinitely recyclable without loss of performance. As primary ore grades decline and demand rises, recycled units are no longer a marginal supply source — they are a strategic one. The EU classifies copper as a strategic raw material under the Critical Raw Materials Act.

Merchant-recyclers such as AC STEEL keep this loop turning: aggregating end-of-life and process scrap, lifting it to usable grade and delivering it back into the value chain efficiently.

MARKET CONTEXT

Why this market matters in Europe

~50%

of Europe’s refined copper demand is met from recycled material, according to industry estimates.

up to ~85%

less energy is required to produce copper from scrap than from primary ore.
